Because it is located in the core area of ​​the Wujiang Gallery, the ancient town is an important part of the "Thousand Mile Wujiang Hundred Mile Gallery". The ancient town is backed by the steep Phoenix Mountain and faces the cliff Fei'e Mountain. The mountains, water and city are integrated with nature, and it is elegant and brilliant. Gongtan Ancient Town is a great place for leisure and vacation, where you can feel the historical charm of the ancient town, experience the local customs and culture, taste delicious food, and enjoy a quiet time. Wujiang River Gallery refers to the more than 100-kilometer section of the Wujiang River from Gongtan to Guizhou. This is the most magnificent section of the Wujiang River Basin, with clear water and green mountains. Sailing on a boat is like traveling through a long scroll of ink painting. Among them, the 60-kilometer-long Youyang section of the Wujiang River is the "Wujiang Hundred Miles Gallery", the essence of the thousand-mile Wujiang River. The original plan was to drive to Pengshui Wanzu Wharf, take a cruise to Gongtan Ancient Town, and tour the Wujiang Gallery, which would take about 2 hours. Pengshui Wanzu Wharf is about 60 kilometers away from Gongtan Ancient Town. Since you are driving by yourself, one person must drive to Gongtan Ancient Town to pick up the rest of the people taking the boat. It is very troublesome for my husband and me. So, we changed the original plan and drove directly to Gongtan Ancient Town. There were several viewing platforms along the way for everyone to view the scenery and take photos, but they were all charged, so we gave up. The same effect applies if you come across an open space where you can park. After staying overnight in the B&B, we went to the ancient town pier to take a boat tour of the Wujiang Gallery (towards Guizhou) after breakfast the next day. We experienced the feeling of "the boat is sailing in the river and the people are swimming in the painting", which was really unforgettable. After swimming for about an hour, return to the ancient town pier.
