Lotus Temple

Lotus Temple is located in the Fire Lotus Geological Park, next to the Lanyang Interchange of the Wanyang Expressway, Lanyang Town, Danzhou City, Hainan Province. Lotus Temple was first built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is connected to the Wanyang Expressway in the east, backed by the Shiwuling of the Lotus Mountain in the west, and faces the Lanyang-Nanfeng (Songtao Reservoir) tourist road in the south. In 2009, the Hainan Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee approved the reconstruction of the Lotus Temple. A formal foundation-laying ceremony was held in July 2016. Currently, only the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the two side buildings have been completed. The Mahavira Hall and other buildings are still under construction. The Hall of Heavenly Kings is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha. On the right is a reclining statue of Shakyamuni, behind which stands the majestic Weituo Bodhisattva, and on the left sits the God of Wealth. Ticket information: As it is located in the Fire Lotus Geological Park, the ticket price is CNY 60 per adult. It is unknown whether Buddhist believers need to buy tickets. Opening hours: The same as the park, 8:00–17:00 Transportation: No public transportation is available, so you need to drive there.
