Located in the heart of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum is a must-see spot with magnificent French colonial architecture! Built by French architect Alfred Fleur between 1885 and 1890, this neoclassical building is eye-catching with its graceful symmetry and delicate decoration. The exterior has stately columns and a classical design, creating an atmosphere as if you have traveled back in time. Inside, the spacious hall and rooms with historical decorations are impressive. The high ceilings, arched window frames, and intricate details convey the splendor of the colonial era to the present day, making it perfect for photography! On the day we visited, there were several couples taking wedding photos! It seems to be one of the photo spots. This building, which was once used as the residence of the Governor-General of South Vietnam, is a space that exudes the weight of history. The exhibition room is rich in materials introducing the history and culture of Ho Chi Minh City, so you can enjoy both architectural beauty and learning. The day we visited was also the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, so there was an exhibition commemorating that. However, please be aware that some parts of the building are deteriorating and some areas are currently under restoration. Still, it's a bargain to be able to enjoy this historical building for the reasonable entrance fee of 30,000 VND! It's also close to Ben Thanh Market and the Reunification Palace, making it easy to include in your sightseeing route.
