Kaohsiung Stone Temple

"Taiwanese Show True Compassion, Thai Workers Build Unique Temple" Due to its peculiar exterior design, the rear hall of Cixuan Shengtiangong, known as the "Stone Temple," has gained widespread recognition. Back in 1994, the temple was just a dilapidated small shrine hidden in a barren, rocky terrain. One day, the temple staff noticed two or three poorly dressed strangers observing from a distance. They kindly invited them in for tea and a meal, only to learn that these individuals were Thai migrant workers who had come to Taiwan to work on the construction of the Southern Second Freeway. There were nearly 500 of them, but due to the bankruptcy of the construction company, they were left in dire straits, struggling to survive without food. Realizing the severity of the situation, the temple decided to provide immediate relief to the workers. Initially harboring resentment towards Taiwanese people due to labor disputes, the Thai workers were deeply moved by the temple's kindness and expressed their gratitude. With hearts full of appreciation, they worked tirelessly day and night, laying stone by stone to build what is now the Stone Temple.
