The historic center of Calatayud

Pyrenees adventure in Spain ~ Zaragoza (region) The central square of Calatayud, originating from the Middle Ages, has witnessed all the activities of the city, including markets, festivals, entertainment, cultural, and social events. Most of its structures feature arcades and preserve some typical architectural elements known as continuous balconies. Although somewhat neglected nowadays, it still retains certain features such as sundials painted on exterior walls, ceramic plaques, curved balconies, and vegetable-selling sculptures, reminiscent of its past as a marketplace.
