A Fleeting Visit to Shuzenji Onsen Town ♨️🚶‍♀️

#summervacay My brief trip to Shuzenji Onsen Town ended rather quickly. This spot is touted as one of Japan's top ten onsen towns and is Izu's oldest hot spring area. Despite its renown, it didn't crack the top 20 in Japan's "100 Best Onsen" list, though it did make the overall list. Perhaps I arrived too early, but most of the shops along the onsen streets lining the Katsura River were still closed, giving the area a noticeably quiet feel. There were only a handful of tourists soaking their feet at Kawara-yu.
