Senoko Fishery Port Singapore

Hidden in the far north of Singapore along the Johor River, Senoko Fishery Port was the home base for our local fishing fleet and is now a commercial wholesale market. We went for a guided tour organised by @mycommunitysg as part of their #MyCommunityFestival to rediscover Singapore. The trip started at 1am, which is when the catch for the day is being transported into the port. 🇸🇬 This was the first time we ever went to a local fishery port and we’re so amazed to see how bustling and friendly the fishmongers there were! The market is sectioned out into specific spots where the fresh fishes are strewn across the floor, so be careful where you’re stepping. 😛 It’s a shame we didn’t bring our icebox along; the wholesale prices are so cheap! They only sell by kilograms and you can get 1kg of prawns at just $15, or 1kg of fleshy mud crabs at $38. It can easily cost you $90 per kilo at a restaurant for the same crab! 🦀 #singaporeguide#travel
